New Years Resolutions!

Happy New Year! Most people make a new goal at the New Year. Many many of those goals are fitness/health related, however a lot of people don't complete these goals. Here are some reasons why:

~Not attainable

~Not measurable

~Not realistic

~Not enjoyable

So with that said how can you achieve this New Years goal/resolution?!

1) Set small attainable goals. Instead of "lose 25# this month" change it to "lose 4-8# this month".

2) Set goals you can measure. Such as I want to lose X inches in 6 months, I want to lower my cholesterol/blood pressure.

3) Be realistic! It took time to put on weight or become unhealthy in other ways. It WILL take time to "fix" those things. If your 5 ft female you are not going to be able to bench 300#.... let that go.

4) Maybe the most important.... is make reaching your goals enjoyable! If you hate running, don't set a goal to run a 1/2 marathon. If you hate "clean" eating, don't set a goal to eat "clean". You get my point. Find something you love to do and that way you will continue to do it AND reach your goals!
