Let's talk about "DIETS"
Lets talk about "diets"......first I HATE that word. To me it implies temporary and to maintain a healthy lifestyle you have to make permenent life changes.
All these fad diets...atkins, caveman, keto, no carb, no fat, Mediterranean, 1200cal, 21 day fix, Shakes, 24 day challenge...all of these things have 1 thing in common...They are extremely difficult or impossible to maintain long term not to mention unhealthy.
So why do people lose weight one them.... because you are in a caloric deficit, meaning you are eating less than what your body needs to maintain itself. NOT because you have eliminated this that or the other thing.
So what do I recommend then.... eating what you like in moderation according to your goals. It's simple calories in vs. calories out in 95% of people.
You do not need to restrict things you love, you do not need to starve yourself, you do not need to drink all your food, etc, etc, etc. Don't fall into the marketing traps and buy into all this crap.
As a Mom, I want to remind you that our children see and hear much much more than we think. They see how you eat, treat your body and feel about yourself.. That can trickle down to how they eat, treat their bodies and how they feel about themselves. Be aware and remember to set good examples for the kids in your life!
